Access from Major Cities
Kamisuwa Onsen is located on the shores of Lake Suwa in central Nagano Prefecture. It is exceptionally easy to access by train, with many hot spring facilities located within walking distance of the station.

- By Train (Fastest Way): Take the JR Limited Express "Azusa" from Shinjuku Station directly to Kami-Suwa Station.

- By Highway Bus: Take the Chuo Highway Bus from the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal (Busta Shinjuku). It takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.
- By Car: Take the Chuo Expressway and exit at the Suwa IC. It is about a 2.5-hour drive from central Tokyo.
From Nagoya (Approx. 2 hours)
- By Train: Take the JR Limited Express "Shinano" to Shiojiri Station, then transfer to the JR Chuo Main Line for a short ride to Kami-Suwa Station.
- By Car: Take the Chuo Expressway via the Okaya Junction and exit at the Suwa IC. It takes about 2 hours.
Pro-Tip for Travelers: One of the unique features of Kamisuwa Station is the footbath (ashiyu) located right on the station platform. It is open to anyone with a train ticket.
