Access from Major Cities

From Tokyo (Approx. 2.5 hours)
- By Train: Take the Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo Station to JR Sendai Station (approx. 90-120 minutes).
- From Sendai Station to Akiu:
- By Bus (Recommended): Take the "Akiu Line" bus from the Sendai Station West Exit (Bus Pool No. 8). It takes about 50 minutes to reach the onsen area.
- By Taxi: A taxi ride from Sendai Station takes about 30 minutes (approx. 6,000 yen).
- By Car: Take the Tohoku Expressway and exit at the Sendai-Minami IC. From there, it is about a 15-minute drive via Route 286.
From Sendai Airport (Approx. 45 to 60 minutes)
- By Bus: Take the "Sendai Airport Access Line" train to Sendai Station, then transfer to the bus as mentioned above.
- Note: Some direct "Akiu Resort Liner" buses may operate from the airport depending on the season.
- By Car: Take the Sendai-Tobu Road and the Sendai-Nanbu Road. It takes about 45 minutes.
