Kaike Onsen is a rare "saltwater hot spring" resort located along the beautiful Miho Bay in Tottori Prefecture. It is known as the birthplace of the triathlon in Japan and is famous for its "Sea, Snow, and Hot Springs" scenery.

From Osaka / Kyoto (Approx. 3 to 3.5 hours)

By Train: Take the Sanyo Shinkansen to Okayama Station, then transfer to the Limited Express "Yakumo" and get off at JR Yonago Station.
- Note: From Yonago Station, it is a 15-minute bus or taxi ride to the Kaike Onsen area.
By Highway Bus: Direct highway buses run from Osaka (Umeda/Namba) to Yonago Station. It takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.
By Car: Take the Chugoku Expressway and Yonago Expressway. Exit at the Yonago IC. It is about a 3-hour drive.

From Tokyo (Approx. 2.5 hours including flight)

By Air (Fastest Way): Fly from Haneda Airport to Yonago Kitaro Airport (approx. 80 minutes).
From the Airport: Take the "Airport Shuttle Bus" to JR Yonago Station (25 mins) or take a taxi directly to Kaike Onsen (approx. 20 mins).

From Hiroshima (Approx. 3 hours)

By Highway Bus: Take the "Merry-go-round" highway bus from Hiroshima Bus Center to JR Yonago Station.
By Car: Drive north via the Hamada Expressway or the Okayama/Yonago Expressway.

If you visit in the summer, you can enjoy swimming in the ocean and soak in a hot spring right after! Also, don't miss the local seafood, especially the Matsuba Crab (in winter) and Bluefin Tuna (in summer).
