From Tokyo (Approx. 3 hours)

By Train (Shinkansen): Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen directly from Tokyo Station to Kaga-Onsen Station.
- Note: From Kaga-Onsen Station, it is a quick 10-minute taxi ride or a 15-minute bus ride to the Yamashiro Onsen area.
By Air: Fly from Haneda Airport to Komatsu Airport (approx. 1 hour). From the airport, it is about a 25-minute taxi or bus ride to Yamashiro Onsen.

From Osaka / Kyoto (Approx. 2.5 hours)

By Train: Take the Limited Express "Thunderbird" to Tsuruga Station, then transfer to the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kaga-Onsen Station.
By Car: Take the Meishin and Hokuriku Expressways. Exit at the Kaga IC. It is about a 3-hour drive from central Osaka.

From Kanazawa (Approx. 45 to 60 minutes)

By Train: Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Kanazawa Station to Kaga-Onsen Station (approx. 20 minutes).
By Car: Drive south via the Hokuriku Expressway or local roads. It takes about 1 hour.

Pro-Tip for Travelers: Yamashiro Onsen is home to many luxury ryokans. Most of them provide free shuttle services from Kaga-Onsen Station, so be sure to check with your hotel in advance. A highlight of this town is "Kosoyu", a public bathhouse that has no showers—just like in the old days. You simply scoop the water over yourself to wash before soaking in the beautiful stained-glass tiled bath!
